Version 5.0 · November 6, 2026

These are the standard terms for the Naad Yoga Teacher Training (NYTT) when you purchase it through our website. Some teachers organize NYTT courses under their own responsibility, in partnership with Raj Academy. They provide their own Learning Agreements, which you sign directly with them.

This is your contract with us for joining the Naad Yoga Teacher Training (NYTT) and paying your deposit. Your nine monthly payments are covered by the separate Monthly Subscription Agreement, which you accept at a second checkout shortly before your course starts.

You must be 18 or older to enroll.

1. The Program

Each course year is around 144 hours across four parts:

  • Group learning with a teacher trainer: 36 hours; 9 monthly sessions, in person or online
  • Self-study on the Raj Academy WebSchool: 36 hours; 10–20 minutes daily, two grades per year
  • Guided learning with a personal tutor: 36 hours; 36 weekly sessions, in person or online
  • Annual Intensive Retreat with Professor Surinder Singh: 36 hours, in person

Session times are set by your trainer or agreed with your tutor. Retreat dates and locations are announced at least six months ahead, usually twelve.

A course year is two WebSchool grades, then about three months to consolidate, gain field experience, and attend a retreat.

Included: all teaching and tutoring sessions, WebSchool access from your course start date while you are enrolled and paid up, and the teaching fee for three Intensive Retreats (section 5.4).

Not included: travel, food, accommodation, visas, insurance, and instruments.

2. Course Fees and Taxes

Each course year costs $3,000 USD:

  • At enrollment, any time before your course start date: $750 deposit
  • Monthly from your course start date: nine payments of $250
  • Total per course year: $3,000 USD

Your deposit is credited to your course fee. Shortly before your course starts you need to set up your monthly payments to keep your place. Years 2 and 3 follow the same structure.

All prices are in US dollars. If your account is in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add a fee.

Taxes. Prices exclude sales tax, VAT, and GST unless the checkout says otherwise.

We are a nonprofit, but your fee is not a donation. It is payment for education you receive, and it is not tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. A separate voluntary gift is acknowledged separately.

3. Minimum Commitment

By enrolling you commit to a full course year — twelve months from your course start date — comprising the deposit and nine monthly payments.

4. Cancellation and Refunds
4.1 Cooling-Off Period

Cancel within fourteen days of enrolling, for any reason, and we will refund you.

This is normally a full refund, since teaching and WebSchool access only begin on your course start date.

Late registration is the exception. If you enroll fewer than fourteen days before your course start date, or after it, teaching and WebSchool access may reach you while your cooling-off period is still running. By enrolling at that point you expressly ask us to begin straight away, and you acknowledge that you will lose your right to withdraw once the course has been fully performed. If you then cancel within the fourteen days, we refund you less a proportionate amount for what you received. Downloadable content already supplied in full is not refundable.

How to cancel. Email [email protected] with "Cancellation NYTT" in the subject. No reason is needed. We acknowledge within three business days and refund to your original payment method within fourteen days.

4.2 Refunds after the Cooling-Off Period

Your deposit is not refundable, unless the law requires it or we cancel under section 10.

4.3 Returning after You Leave

If you leave part way through a course year and later return, you rejoin by enrolling in a new course year at the price then current, and pay the full course year fee.

5. Attendance and Certification
5.1 Attendance

Tell your instructor at least twenty-four hours ahead if you cannot attend, and catch up afterward. Missing more than three monthly trainer sessions in a year means that year is not complete for certification.

5.2 Certificates

The Naad Yoga Teacher Trainer Certificate is issued once you have completed:

  •   Six WebSchool grades
  •   All monthly trainer sessions (subject to section 5.1)
  •   All weekly tutor sessions
  •   Three Intensive Retreats (section 5.4)
  •   108 hours tutoring another student in the Seva-and-Sangat module

A Naad Yoga Teacher Trainer Certificate qualifies you to teach Naad Yoga independently and offer NYTT courses in partnership with us. Active Naad Yoga Council membership is required for anyone offering NYTT.

Complete A–C but not D and E, and you can request a Naad Yoga Teacher Certificate instead. It qualifies you to teach Naad Yoga but not run NYTT courses. Finish D and E later to upgrade.

5.3 Scope and Limitations of Certification

Certification is awarded on demonstrated competence, assessed by your trainer. Paying fees does not entitle you to certification.

Our certificates are not a government license, a degree, or an accredited academic qualification, and they do not guarantee employment, income, or recognition by any studio, insurer, or registry. Whether you may lawfully teach where you live is for you to check.

5.4 Intensive Retreats

Included: the teaching fee for three Intensive Retreats. We hold three retreats each year — one in North America, one in Europe, and one in India. We recommend one per course year.

Not included: travel, food, accommodation, visas, and insurance.

Time limit. Your window runs to one year after your final course year is scheduled to end: four years from a Year 1 start, three from Year 2, two from Year 3. If you re-enroll after a break, it is recalculated from the start of the course year you rejoin.

Expiry. Once your window closes, the included teaching fee lapses for any retreat still outstanding. You can still attend, and full certification stays open — you would pay the standard retreat teaching fee, currently $600 USD per retreat, subject to change.

Extension. Your window is extended, day for day, for any period during which:

  • we cancel or postpone a retreat you had booked;
  • we do not hold the three retreats we have promised for that year;
  • you cannot attend for reasons outside your control, including visa refusal after a timely and complete application, travel restrictions, or a border or route closing; or
  • we suspend your enrollment for a reason that is not your breach of this Agreement.

Tell us in writing and we will confirm your new end date.

Further terms. The entitlement is personal to you, has no cash value, and is not refundable if unused. It covers the teaching fee; places remain subject to availability and booking deadlines.

6. Health, Wellbeing, and Medical Disclaimer

Naad Yoga involves sound, breath, singing, meditation, instrumental practice, and physical postures, which can be demanding.

  • Please confirm you are well enough to take part, and see a doctor first if you are unsure.
  • Tell your trainer and tutor about injuries, pregnancy, cardiac, respiratory, hearing, or psychiatric conditions, or relevant medication.
  • Work within your own limits. Stop if something hurts.
  • Nothing taught here is medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice, and it is not a substitute for professional care. Do not change prescribed treatment.
  • Sound and meditative practice can surface strong emotions. Tell your tutor if it does, and seek proper support.

7. Intellectual Property

The course materials — recordings, notation, texts, WebSchool content, images, and audio — are the copyright of Professor Surinder Singh, Yogi of Sound, and Raj Academy uses them under license. Some materials belong to Raj Academy or other third parties. Nothing you receive transfers ownership to you.

Raj Academy grants you a personal, nontransferable sublicense to use the materials for your own learning while you are enrolled and paid up, or an Alumni subscriber.

Please do not copy, record, screen-capture, republish, or distribute the materials; share your login; upload them anywhere, including to AI training datasets; use them to build a competing course; or use our names and logos commercially without written permission.

This section may be enforced against you by Raj Academy and, as copyright owner, by Professor Surinder Singh, Yogi of Sound, directly. Your sublicense ends when your enrollment or Alumni subscription does. This section survives termination.

8. Session Recordings

We record sessions so absent students can catch up, and joining a session means you consent to that. Keep your camera off and tell your trainer if you would rather not appear. Recordings go only to your cohort. We will not use your image, name, or voice in marketing without your separate consent, which you can withdraw.

9. Student Conduct

Please treat trainers, tutors, and fellow students with respect. We may suspend or end enrollment without refund for harassment, abuse, discrimination, sharing credentials, infringing our materials, or seriously disrupting a cohort or retreat. Where something can be put right, we will give notice and a fair chance to do so.

10. Program Changes and Cancellation by Raj Academy
10.1 Minimum Enrollment

Each cohort runs only if it reaches the minimum number of students set by its teacher trainer. We confirm whether your cohort will run no later than fourteen days before your course start date, and no monthly payment is taken before we confirm it.

If your cohort does not reach its minimum, you may choose either a place in the next available cohort, with everything you have paid credited to it, or a full refund of everything you have paid, including your deposit. The choice is yours; if we have not heard from you within fourteen days, we refund you in full.

10.2 Changes to the Program

We may reasonably change trainers, tutors, session times, retreat locations, and curriculum structure, giving as much notice as we can. If a change materially disadvantages you, or we cancel your cohort after teaching has begun, you may cancel and receive a pro rata refund for the undelivered part of that course year.

10.3 Events beyond Our Control

We are not liable for interruptions beyond our reasonable control — natural disaster, war, epidemic, government action, visa refusal, platform outage, or the illness or death of a key teacher. We will reschedule where we reasonably can.

11. Limitation of Liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes your statutory rights.

Otherwise, and so far as the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or lost income you expected from teaching. We provide the program as described but cannot promise WebSchool or any online session will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, and the courts of Wayne County, Michigan have exclusive jurisdiction, except as follows.

Consumers in the EU, EEA, and UK keep the mandatory protections of their home country's law and may bring proceedings in their own courts. Consumers in India keep their rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Please come to us first. Email [email protected]. We reply within ten business days and try in good faith to resolve things within thirty days.

13. Data Protection

Our Privacy Notice at www.rajacademy.com/privacy-policy explains how we handle your personal data.

14. General Provisions

Whole agreement. This and the Monthly Subscription Agreement replace any earlier version, including any previous Learning Agreement.

Changes. We give enrolled students at least thirty days' notice by email of any material change; if you do not accept it, you may cancel.

Severability. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stands.

Transfers. You cannot transfer your enrollment. We may assign this Agreement to a successor on notice.

Notices. To us: [email protected]. To you: the email on your account — please keep it current.

Language. English governs; translations are for convenience.

15. Acceptance

By accepting this Agreement at checkout, you confirm that you:

  1. are 18 or older;
  2. have read this Agreement and the Privacy Notice;
  3. understand each course year costs $3,000 USD — a $750 deposit now, then nine monthly payments of $250 beginning at your course start date, set up at a second checkout;
  4. are committing to twelve months, and that rejoining later means paying a new course year in full;
  5. understand that WebSchool access, teaching, and tutoring begin on your course start date, and that if you enroll fewer than fourteen days before that date, or after it, a proportionate amount will be deducted from any refund (section 4.1).

We will email you a copy of this Agreement after checkout.
