"Returning to your true Self"
Yogi Kiran SKG
Letty Mitchell
I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Kiran during our Yoga and Sound sessions. Kiran is very special. An intuitive who is able to sense the energy of the space and respond sensitively to the needs of everyone in the room. There is a subtle magic to his music which always comes through with sincerity, grace and care — a power in the quality and technical ability of his playing. Kiran is able to shift states and create beautiful cathartic experiences which feel safe and multidimensional. A rare soul, whose authenticity and kindness shine through whenever he enters the room. It has been a real pleasure working alongside Kiran over the years. I feel privileged that our paths met and am extremely excited to continue to learn from him and work together.
Tarin
I’ve been blessed to have spent years programming and participating in Kiran’s Naad Yog workshops and classes at our yoga studio [YITS] and festivals, and have had the joy of attending many of his traditional-meets-modern concerts. Kiran has been an inspiration to many artists and students, bringing a deeply embodied depth to the sacred art of sound in a uniquely accessible and relatable approach.
My Journey
Growing up listening to Professor Surinder Singh’s Partaal album, I was deeply inspired by the possibility that music could be more than expression — it could be medicine.
Through the guidance of my local teacher Rajinder Kaur, and years of dedicated study within Raj Academy’s flagship Naad Yoga Teacher Training, I have been able to grow into this path with both discipline and creativity.
My foundation has always been interdisciplinary: from music, film, and theatre, to school teaching, yoga, and Ayurveda. When I encountered Naad Yoga, it felt as though everything I had been learning was suddenly connected.
It was the missing bridge that allowed me to feel fully integrated.
I became especially interested in the relationship between sound and feeling: how Raag can shape an emotional atmosphere, how the voice can reveal what we are carrying, and how attentive listening can become a practice in itself. I began to explore how the intention behind a sound can be just as important as the sound itself.
Alongside my formal training, I have been exploring ways to make Naad Yoga and Gurmat Kirtan accessible in contemporary UK settings — including Kirtan for Mental Health workshops with Sarbat, Mind to Soul workshops with Shakti Space, and Naad Yoga classes at Yoga in the Stars.
These experiences have allowed me to explore how the principles of Naad can meet people where they are — whether through music, mental-health-informed practice, yoga, community or creative exploration.
Today, I feel honoured to carry this lineage forward in a way that feels emotionally relatable, artistically challenging, and sonically alive for a modern audience.

Why I Share
What I have found through sound has become something I feel responsible for sharing. I have experienced music not simply as something to perform, but as something that can change how we listen, feel and relate to ourselves.Â
I want to make this knowledge accessible without losing its depth — honouring the lineage from which it comes while allowing it to speak to people living in the world today.
For me, sharing is part of the practice. When something has the capacity to help us become more present, more emotionally aware and more connected, it should not remain hidden.
When we come together, we amplify one another.
