The backers of a new performing arts venue in Slough are hoping it will bring music to more people's ears. The Rotundare-opened at Thames Valley University's Wellington Street campus last week following a 510,000 investment programme.

The venue will be used by the performing arts department to promote music from around the world. There will be regular performances for the public. Professor Surinder Singh, from the university's music department, has put a lot of his own money into the project. Spokeswoman Jasvir Kaur said: "Pop music is not the only type of music. The performances at the Rotunda will give people the chance to connect with different types of music again."

The next performance, which is free, will be held on Thursday February 28th from 6 – 8pm.
