To begin your journey as a student of Gurmat Sangeet, you must meet the following criteria.
Respect Guru Granth Sahib
A student must respect and uphold Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal source of wisdom and guidance. All students are required to recite Gurbani in the raag specified in the title, without compromise.
15 minutes a day, five days a week
A student must make a commitment to practise the weekly lessons for 15 minutes a day, five days a week. This continuous cycle of 15 minutes for five days is the key to succeeding as a student in Gurmat Sangeet Outreach.
Seven years or older
A minimum age of seven years is required to enrol as a student in the Gurmat Sangeet Outreach programme. If parents or elder siblings wish to enrol children or younger siblings under the age of seven, they are encouraged to learn Kirtan themselves, setting an example for the younger ones.
Learn, Share, Revive
All students must pledge to share this sacred art of Kirtan with two people in their lifetime. Sharing of knowledge allows students to discover new insights which cannot be taught.
Every student will aspire to embrace life’s challenges with an endearing smile. Smiling reduces stress, strengthens the immune system and brings positivity to life. Throughout the programme, a student will seek to discover how a simple smile can empower an individual and lead to success in life.
