MA Nád Yoga
M.Mus Indian / Sikh music and MA Nád Yoga are two exciting new courses, which give you access to learn about Indian music in a completely new way, creating the opportunity to become a highly adept and knowledgeable musician.
Each programme takes a slightly different approach to the study of Indian music:
The M.Mus Sikh / Indian Music specialises on training talented performers and guides them to the technical mastery of their voices and instruments. In addition, emphasis is put on experiencing real-life marketing and music management, allowing the students not only to become professional musicians, but also to gain access to the Music Industry.
The MA Nád Yoga focuses on the musicological aspect of sound, thus concentrating on the effects music has on mind, body and spirit. Based on this knowledge students learn how to diagnose emotional and physical implications as well as to heal these through the sound of Sikh Music.
MA Nád Yoga - The healing properties of sound
This unique programme will give students a deeper understanding of the effects of sound on body, mind and spirit, teaching them to reflect on their practice as performers and healers with an analytical look at the effect of their music on the listener.
In the process of the course, students will have to draw upon their own skills and experience to project the desired effect of their music; the procedure of learning how to accomplish this is also a vital part of this study programme. By training students to become more knowledgeable as musicologists, the course aims to create therapists, counsellors, healers, teachers and musicians, who are equipped with the ability to understand their listeners, and to use music for more far-reaching and holistic purposes.
The MA in Nád Yoga offers a new dimension of musical research. It investigates the science of sound, analyses musicology in depth, and includes a diagnostics module, which guides students on how to prescribe music. This study program offers great potential for those, who already work as therapists or artists, as it provides a recognised qualification in this specialist field of music for the very first time in history.
Course Modules
