Give yourself the opportunity to receive exclusive training in Gurmat Sangeet with the guidance of Raj Academy's qualified and experienced staff and senior students, join us for our annual camps and see how easy and achievable this all is

A unique and memorable experience to contribute to your journey of learning Guru's kirtan.

You do not need a musical background to attend our camp, neither do you need an instrument, all you need is the love to want to learn this sacred art. We will help new students work from zero up to a basic understanding of Guru's kirtan as prescribed by Guru, using Guru's instruments.

Choose from one of the following instruments, which one you would like to work with at the camp and leave the rest to us:

Saranda
Sarangi
Jori
Taus
Dilruba

Our pledge is to teach you a shabad in the prescribed ràg on your chosen Sikh Instruments during your few days at the camp.

Aim of our camps
• To share and understand the purpose of singing Kirtan according to the prescription (hukam) of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
• To practically explore the beauty of the sacred instruments blessed by our Guru's

Training will focus on understanding:
o The musical framework of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji
o The purpose and role of the title ràg
o How to connect with the shabad
o How to apply the knowledge gained from the shabad in daily life
o Instruments of Sikh Guru's Court: Rabab, Saranda, Jori, Sarangi, Dilruba and Taus

The Program
You will be taken on a very intense and enjoyable journey in a few days, full of practical workshops with the instruments, as well as lectures, seminars, master classes with world-renowned teachers and group discussions.
For our musical training you will work on a one to one or one to two basis to learn a shabad and understand instrumental usage.

Preserving the Traditions
Our camps are designed to ensure the revival of Gurmat Sangeet practice simply by following the very clear instructions directed for each shabad in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Our aim is to give our students an experience of kirtan as practiced at the times of our Guru's.
